Signals

Signals is developing through paintings about communication, memory and emotional distance. The existing Translation acts as a prologue; new paintings are in progress.

A language of contact.

Signals develops the relationship between precise, recognisable forms and expansive painted space. A bird, an object or a physical line carries an inner state: a voice, a hesitation, a disturbance or a fragile attempt at connection.

The series is in development. Translation, the existing typewriter painting, acts as its prologue. New oil paintings explore communication, memory and emotional distance through different forms of presence, silence and response.
