Photography

Seeing
through light.

Photography as observation, composition, atmosphere and another way of constructing an image.
The medium

Before the photograph, there is always the act of seeing.

Photography is another essential part of Agu Kleme's visual practice. It allows a different kind of immediacy: a moment, a gesture, a composition of light, a person or an atmosphere caught before it disappears.

The photographic image is not treated merely as documentation. It becomes a visual decision in itself.

Areas

Different ways
of looking.

01 Portrait People, presence, expression and the visual relationship between subject and photographer.
02 Artistic Photography Independent visual work where photography becomes an artistic language rather than simple documentation.
03 Places & Atmosphere Light, architecture, landscape and fragments of places that carry their own visual memory.
04 Personal Projects Ongoing photographic observations, experiments and independent series.
Photography
A photograph may last a fraction of a second. Seeing it can last much longer.
Photography & painting

Two mediums.
One visual instinct.

Painting and photography operate differently, but both begin with selection: what enters the image, what remains outside it, where attention is placed, and what kind of atmosphere is created.

In Agu Kleme's practice, photography and painting do not need to compete. They inform different ways of looking at the same world.
